Clearance and formalities
Port authority, customs, immigration and health. Pre-arrival documentation prepared and lodged, inward and outward clearance attended in person.
The oldest part of this business, and the part no passenger ever sees. We have been clearing vessels through Corfu since 1978, long enough that most of the authorities we deal with, we deal with by name.
Every agency in the Ionian lists the same services, in roughly the same order, and the list tells you nothing. What separates one agent from another is narrower than that and you already know what it is.
It is whether somebody answers at four in the morning when the pilot boards two hours early. It is whether the proforma disbursement account resembles the final one. It is whether the crew change that depends on a 06:40 departure from Corfu Airport is being watched by someone who knows the flight was already delayed yesterday.
We are a small agency on a small island, and that is the argument. Your vessel is not one of forty calls being handled by a rota.
Quoted per call rather than from a tariff, because no two calls at Corfu are the same shape.
Port authority, customs, immigration and health. Pre-arrival documentation prepared and lodged, inward and outward clearance attended in person.
Sign-on and sign-off, immigration formalities for joining crew, hotel and our own vehicles between berth and Corfu Airport, twenty minutes, and driven by people we employ.
Coordination with suppliers and reception facilities, attendance during operations, MARPOL documentation.
Fresh and dry provisions, bonded stores, customs clearance for spares in transit, ships’ mail and courier handling.
Class and flag surveyors, divers, riding crews and workshops arranged and escorted. We attend; you are not left coordinating a yard from another time zone.
Hospital and clinic arrangements on the island, ambulance to the berth, and repatriation logistics including the escorts and paperwork they require.
Corfu is a first or last Greek port for a very large number of yachts, which makes the paperwork disproportionate to the size of the vessel. Transit log, crew lists, cruising formalities, VAT questions that arrive at the worst moment. We do that paperwork so the master does not.
For superyachts and small cruise ships we also arrange guest transport ashore, the same fleet, the same licensed drivers, the same office. That is the reason the two halves of this business have sat under one roof since 1978, and it is why a guest programme and a crew change never end up being coordinated by two companies who have not spoken.
Vessel name, IMO, ETA and scope. Anything else you have is useful and nothing else is required.
A proforma disbursement account, itemised, usually within two working hours. Port dues shown at the published rate rather than estimated.
On appointment we lodge pre-arrival documentation and confirm berth, pilot and all services booked.
The agent is at the berth for arrival and departure. One named person, reachable, for the whole call.
Final disbursement account with every supporting invoice attached. Variances from the proforma are explained line by line, not netted off.
Vessel name, IMO number, ETA and the scope you need. If it is urgent, telephone, the number is answered around the clock during the season.
