About this journey
Four centuries in four hours: a Habsburg empress, a Venetian garrison and a British protectorate, all within eight kilometres.
The Achilleion first: Elisabeth's retreat, its terrace and the dying Achilles, then back into town for the Old Fortress, the Venetian wells of the Campiello and the arcades the British left behind. Museum tickets are not included, so you choose what is worth going inside for; your guide will tell you honestly.
